Spoiler-light field notes
Your first session is about learning how the island speaks.
A solo or co-op open-world RPG inspired by Morrowind. The safest opening advice is not a fabricated route: decide how you want to play, learn how the world communicates objectives, and install Update 16 or later.
1. Decide between solo and co-op before settling in
The entire campaign is officially playable in co-op. If you are joining friends, read the current saving and regrouping rules first; Update 6 changed loading and quest tracking, while Update 7 added co-op compass markers and a non-host race-change flow.
2. Your opening race is no longer permanent
Update 7 added Uruhan as a playable northern bearmen race. A mirror on the southern shore can change your race at any time; the changeappearance command is another option. This makes race choice less final than it was at launch.
3. Treat dialogue and map areas as navigation
Learn the island by walking, following rumors, reading fragments of history and talking to its inhabitants. Follow leads and notice shortcuts instead of expecting a single prescribed checklist.
Quests now mark areas correctly on the map in a TES3-style way. Update before following older directions.
On mouse, custom waypoints now use right-click rather than double left-click. Fast travel to points of interest can be enabled in Accessibility options.
4. Pause before resolving a quest
Most quests support multiple resolutions, including mercy, violence, compromise or deceit. That official promise does not reveal which named quest supports which outcome, so this guide will not invent branch instructions.
5. Learn systems before looking for a “best” build
Spell crafting and alchemy are both present in Early Access, but the public recipe table is not complete. Update 6 added Jump magic, stopped identical spell effects from stacking, made potion effects stack correctly and increased alchemy experience. Update 7 makes discovered alchemy effects visible and fixes crafted spells so every effect on the spell is used. Update 8 adds Fortify Magic and Fortify Stamina to spellcrafting.
6. Use the latest combat and shop controls
Arrows now consistently block ranged spellshots and can be used as a counter. Shop filters now filter the player's inventory as well. These are current interaction rules, not a recommendation for a specific build or merchant route.
7. Give the island time
The developer projects 30–40+ hours for a completionist playthrough without guides. Use that as the developer’s scope estimate, not a promise for every play style.
